Sixteen Players Win First Ever TST $2M Double As Champions in Women’s and Mixed Bracket
TST Sets New Attendance Record with Nearly 58,000 Fans
TST crowned three new champions on Monday night at WakeMed Soccer Park, as Hernandez United, Iowa Demon Hawks, and Peluche Hawks FC all took home $1 million each in TST’s Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed Bracket live on NBC Sports Network.
TST’s championship evening kicked off with the first ever Mixed Bracket championship between former MLS MVP Mike Magee’s Sneaky FC and Peluche Hawks, a partnership between the Kings League’s Peluche Caligari and the Iowa Demon Hawks. Sneaky FC opened the scoring just two minutes in before Peluche Hawks rattled off three straight goals. Sneaky FC scored a free kick to make it 3-2 just before Target Score Time. Sneaky FC tied it up in Target Score Time, setting up a next goal wins scenario. In the end, Vinicius Alexandre’s second goal of the night sealed the $1 million victory for Peluche Hawks.
After capturing the Mixed Championship, players from Peluche Hawks then turned around just minutes later to suit up for Iowa Demon Hawks in the Women’s Bracket championship against Simply Futbol FC. Down 1-0 at the end of regulation, Iowa Demon Hawks rattled off two straight, with the eventual winner coming from Thais Andrade.
Elaine Rocha Echarri, Andrea Lorena Britez Lopez, Claudia Maria Romero, Alana Pinheiro Alencar, Adrielle Marques da Silva, Natalie Wippel Barboza, Kassia Ellen dos Santos da Silva, Denisse Lizette Valdez Adame, Meiriane da Silva Domingos, Thais Andrade de Mello, Silvia Elicerio Castillo, Jessica Graziela Sant’Anna, Valeria Pamela Macia Ramirez, Merlin Yovhana Salcedo Ramos, and Elisabeth Cristina Pereira da Costa became the first players in TST history to win two TST championships in the same year. Both teams were organized by general manager Darwin Salas.
The men’s championship featured 2025 runner-up Pumas de Alabama and Hernandez United, a TST newcomer hailing from Richmond, Virginia. A back-and-forth affair, Hernandez United won 3-2 on a Target Score Time goal from Brandon Escota.
TST’s six-day event set a new attendance record this year with 57,942 fans, a 12% increase over last year.
