BOSTON (April 11, 2024) – The Soccer Tournament (TST), the 7v7 event with a $1 million winner-take-all prize, today announced in conjunction with The Pat McAfee Show that former NFL punter and ESPN personality Pat McAfee will be entering The Concafa SC into TST’s 48-team field. McAfee, the team’s co-general manager, will also play in the event.

In addition to participating, McAfee will bring The Pat McAfee Show to TST at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C., from June 5-7. The show will air live during its regular time slots from noon-2 p.m. on ESPN and noon-3ish p.m. on The Pat McAfee Show YouTube channel.

In March, TST announced an agreement with ESPN to air 27 total men’s and women’s bracket matches on ESPN+.

McAfee unveiled the news on The Pat McAfee Show Wednesday during an interview with former NFL star and Burnley co-owner JJ Watt, who will also be participating in TST with his wife, Kealia, on Burnley’s men’s and women’s entries.

“When Pat reached out after our inaugural championship expressing a desire to enter a team, we were all-in. We’re excited for his show to broadcast live from TST and to see him and his team compete for a million dollars,” said TST founder and CEO Jon Mugar.

The Concafa Soccer Club will be coached by former US National Team goalkeeper Tony Meola.

TST’s men’s bracket will feature 48 teams competing in 12 groups of four from June 5-6. Thirty-two teams will emerge from the group stage games to the knockout rounds on June 7. TST’s round of 16 and quarterfinals will take place on June 8, and the two semifinal matches will be played June 9.

This year’s TST will also feature a separate eight-team women’s bracket from June 7-10 with an equal $1 million prize, headlined by Heather O’Reilly’s U.S. Women’s team, which will also feature Ali Krieger.

Both the men’s and women’s brackets will conclude in a winner-take-all championship double header on June 10, where TST will award a total of $2 million in prize money.

Notable players committed to play in TST 2024 include JJ and Kealia Watt, Heather O’Reilly, Ali Krieger, NFL wide receiver Chad Ochocinco, former Manchester City stars Sergio Aguero and Mario Balotelli, Portuguese national team legend Nani, among others.
