Bumpy Pitch FC Men Take Down Pumas de Alabama in a Come-From-Behind Target Score Time Thriller

CARY, N.C. (June 9, 2025) — The Soccer Tournament (TST) witnessed a historic night at WakeMed Soccer Park as former U.S. Women’s National Team stars Carli Lloyd, Ali Krieger, Heather O’Reilly, and the US Women claimed their second straight $1 million prize in TST’s women’s bracket. Despite falling short in the women’s championship, Bumpy Pitch FC emerged victorious in the men’s championship game, taking home the $1 million prize in front of a sold-out crowd.

Looking to repeat their triumph from the inaugural women’s event last summer, US Women reloaded with additional US Women’s National Team veterans and five current players from the University of North Carolina. After joining the staff as an assistant coach in 2024, Carli Lloyd returned to the field as a player for TST 2025, marking her first competitive appearance since retiring in 2021. Lloyd scored two goals in the tournament, including the game-winning goal in Target Score Time against Streetball FC Canada to send US Women to the semifinals.

US Women controlled the $1 million match from start to finish, defeating Bumpy Pitch FC Women 3-0. Evelyn Shores slotted home the $1 million-winning goal off a Heather O’Reilly assist 13 minutes into Target Score Time to secure the team’s second straight title.

The $1 million prize, to be split among the winning team members, remains one of the largest purses in women’s soccer.

The women’s bracket all-tournament team included: Hope Solo (Solo FC), Carli Lloyd (US Women), Bella Devey (US Women), Mana Shim (US Women), Giana Riley (Bumpy Pitch FC), Maci Teater (Ultrain FC), and Katie Shea Collins (Solo FC).

In the men’s championship, Bumpy Pitch FC defeated Pumas de Alabama 2-1. Trailing 1-0 entering Target Score Time, Bumpy Pitch capitalized on mistakes from Pumas de Alabama, scoring two goals — including the $1 million winner from Charlie Gonzalez.

The men’s bracket all-tournament team included: Sergio Agüero (Seleccion Potrero), Oumar Niasse (Pasha Luxury FC), Ricardinho (Nani FC), Drew Ruggles (The CONCAFA SC), Jose Antonio Medina Alvarado (Pumas de Alabama), Cristian Martinez Borja (Bumpy Pitch FC), and Hugo Gomez (Bumpy Pitch FC).

The Soccer Tournament welcomed more than 50,000 attendees over six days, and featured players from 34 different countries.
