Angel City FC, a National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club based in Los Angeles, was founded in 2020 and recently acquired by Disney CEO Bob Iger. The club boasts an impressive list of investors, including Abby Wambach, Mia Hamm, Julie Foudy, Candace Parker, and Billie Jean King.

In last summer’s tournament, the Angel City 7s won two of their three group stage matches, defeating Wrexham and Streetball FC Canada but falling to the US Women. Despite their strong performance, their two victories weren’t enough to advance to the knockout stages, as they fell short on goal differential.
